CATTLE
Cattle Naturally Belong on a Farm Like Hauger

Cattle naturally belong on a farm like Hauger. They are social animals that bring life and energy to the farm. Grazing cattle can help restore and improve soil health as well as increase carbon sequestration.
We have entered into a 10-year land lease agreement with Dyster Gård to manage the associated fields at Hauger Gård. They raise cattle that graze on the land and cultivate organic grass. This forms part of their meat production. Dyster states the following about their core values on their website:
DYSTER FARM
Core Values
Dyster Farm about their core values:
- They emphasize operating as sustainably as possible and making use of local resources.
- They are committed to ensuring that animals and plants have the best possible conditions.
- They produce most of their own feed and do not use commercial feed. This is how they create locally sourced food and minimize emissions.
- They think long-term and see their farm as a loan from past generations, aiming to manage it in the best interest of future ones.
Dyster Farm uses virtual fences from Monil on their animals, demonstrating that they are forward-thinking and modern. These attitudes and values align closely with Sylva’s, and we view this collaboration as a win-win situation.
We are in the process of expanding our collaboration by building a modern outdoor barn, thereby enabling year-round operations at Hauger Farm.
