THE HISTORY OF HAUGER GÅRD
Hauger Farm is one of the oldest farms in Vestby, with farming activity dating back as far as the 1300s

Hauger Farm is one of the very oldest farms in Vestby. It is believed that the farm was cleared as a family farm already at the beginning of the Common Era, with farming activity dating back as far as the 1300s.
The farm had many private owners until 1904, when it was bought at a forced auction by A/S Tofte Cellulosefabrik. After their bankruptcy, it was transferred to Tofte Industrier A/S in 1983, which later merged with Norske Skog. Petter Olsen purchased the farm from Norske Skog in 2008 to include it as part of Ramme Farm. Ahead of Petter’s personal bankruptcy in 2024, Sylva bought Hauger Farm in May 2024.
Marit Haugsbakken wrote an article about the history of Hauger Farm for Østlands Blad on April 5, 2006.
